Earlier in my career I focused on brand design with an emphasis on typography and illustration. Over time, I became increasingly more technical, and at one point, knew entirely too much about Bootstrap and command-line Git. In the last 3 years, the design conversations have increased in altitude. My time is less about designing the apps, and more about the ethereal systems that steer the user experience (service design).
When not kicking off discovery efforts to address complex business problems; I provide consults for founders looking to sprinkle memorable narrative into their pitch decks. In my spare time I dabble in art, listen to rap, and appreciate good bagels.
In 1994 Marshall McLuhan wrote Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man; in which he argues that our tools and our tech are merely extensions of ourselves. Which could hold true, but potentially places some heavy implications on how our human nature is reflected back at us in the inputs we use to train AI and machine learning models. Paris Hilton also said, "Always walk around like you have on an invisible tiara," which is important, too.
Furthermore, if we continue to study motivational triggers that go into using a product or adopting a process; we can better understand how tech will impact our future. If we understand our tech, we’ll be ready for our robot overlords. (Maybe.)
